My take on photojournalism

        There are various photojournalist in the world that are incredibly talented. But three of them really stood out to me. These include, Acacia Johnson, William Daniels, and Esther Ruth Mbabzi.            I cannot stress this enough, after looking through all of my classmates blog posts. I realized that everyone is pretty much on the same boat. When it comes to truths about photographs, and photojournalists in general. Photojournalists in general has that one thing that differs them from the rest of other regular photos that are being taken. To me when photojournalists take pictures it is more than what you see, but what you feel and the actions you'll take towards that photo. Not only is he playing the accordion but by looking at his face you could tell the type of emotion that he's going through. He's tears portray such strong emotions of how he's feeling. While majority of the white people in the back don't seem to show such strong emotion or any type of attitude towards the situation. I believe what this image is trying to tell all of us is how much this man has such deep appreciation and respect towards FDR. Especially based on the knowledge that I already know, where FDR has was able to support majority of the African American people on getting a job especially during those times. Believe it or not photojournalism consist of many ethical topics that could portray a lot of controversy, especially with todays media and and photojournalism today. A perfect example would be this famous photo taken by Sally Mann titled “White Skates” taken in 1990. These photos showed intimate pictures of her children, that were naked. The problem with this photo is the fact that it could be portrayed in so many different ways based on a each persons perspective. You’d get criticism on this image questioning it too look like its portraying pornography, fine arts, objectification, or even anything else different. This goes to show that “we have to second guess our art or documentary projects as others could find them, sick, disturbing or vulgar.” In other words, we really have to think about how photojournalists really have be specific and detailed and smart when taking certain pictures.       Eloisa Lopez      A Filipino freelance photographer based in Manila, Philippines. Majority of her work specializes on crime, human rights, women and children issues.      She started documenting at the Filipino Catholic Faith. She graduated from De La Salle University eventually working as a photo correspondent for the Philippines.      During the time President Rodrigo Duterte won the election and declared war on drugs, she had the idea of documenting this as a project of her own.        Within this project I wanted to focus on the topic of racism in general. To me this is very important because this tragic problem has been going on for years. I wanted to focus on specific time periods from generations ago up until today. I wanted to portray the fact that it has been this long and still noting has changed. Till this day black people are struggling to survive every day.      In order for me to have created this idea, I decided to use the symbol of the fist. The symbol of the fist represents unity and power within the people and the community. Coming together and uniting as one.   Esther Aquino History of Photojournalism Working in Digital Age                 The digital photographic technology or process that I have researched is the Wi-Fi enabled DSLRS. I chose this because there are so many perks to having this specific camera. With this specific camera includes Wi-Fi. In other words, as stated “when you use this camera you are able to transfer photos wirelessly from a digital camera to a Web site or your computer.” So whether you’re inside or out, or dong anything at all, you can simply transfer your pictures from your camera to your computer or even your phone. Another perk about this camera is the fact that it is so convenient.
